Built in 1929 on the Largo de São Frei Pedro Gonçalves, the former Hotel Globo is now a museum overlooking the Sanhauá River and Porto do Capim.

The Hotel Globo was built in 1929 by hotelier Henriques Siqueira, known as "Seu Marinheiro," on the Largo de São Frei Pedro Gonçalves, in Varadouro. Over the decades, it operated as one of the Paraíba state capital's reference hotels, hosting travelers and figures of local society during a period of intense commercial activity around the city's river port.

The building, with Art Deco lines, was listed as heritage in 1980 by the Historic and Artistic Heritage Institute of the State of Paraíba (IPHAEP). After the decline of its hotel activity, the space underwent a transformation and today operates as a museum, displaying period furniture and pieces dating back to when it received guests, preserving part of the original setting.

One of the most cited attractions of the site is the view that opens up from its garden and viewpoint, facing the Sanhauá River and Porto do Capim — the area corresponding to the site where the city was founded in 1585. The sunset seen from this spot is one of the reasons that made Hotel Globo a recurring destination for residents and tourists interested in the scenery of the Historic Center.

As a museum and viewpoint, the former Hotel Globo is part of Varadouro's visitor route, alongside the Church of São Frei Pedro Gonçalves and other listed properties that make up this stretch of Cidade Baixa.
