Where to eat on Paraíba's South Coast: general overview

From Conde to Pitimbu, eating on the south coast requires planning, because the offer is scattered, seasonal and varies from beach to beach.

Paraíba's south coast begins south of João Pessoa, passes through the municipality of Conde, where Jacumã, Carapibus, Tabatinga, Coqueirinho, Tambaba and Praia do Amor are located, and reaches Pitimbu. There is no continuous corridor of restaurants: food is spread across venues along the PB-008 road and near specific beaches, which makes it useful to decide the route before setting out.

A report by Paraíba Business, from August 23, 2026, gathers lunch options in the region. Among those mentioned are Turek Grelhados, on PB-008, km 23, in the Carapibus area, serving meats, pastas, fish, shrimp and risottos; Rocha Mar, in Coqueirinho, a seafood restaurant; Casa de Taipa Tambaba and Restaurante Brasilândia Tambaba, in the Tambaba area; and, in Pitimbu, Restaurante do Caldinho and Restaurante Maré, in Praia Bela. The report mentions days and hours, but these change and should be confirmed before visiting.

Two precautions apply to the whole region. The first is safety: the Federal Public Prosecutor's Office (MPF) presented, in March 2026, a study classifying the condition of the Carapibus cliffs as critical and recommending avoiding the edge and the base of the bluffs, especially at high tide. The second is health inspection: on January 30, 2026, an operation shut down a bar in Coqueirinho for irregularities, according to Jornal da Paraíba. It's worth checking the status of any venue before going.
