Happy hour: the city's circuits

Bars in Bessa, Manaíra, Jardim Oceania and the Historic Center form the capital's main happy hour circuits.

Happy hour in João Pessoa spreads across neighborhood circuits. According to Paraíba Business, in a July 2026 report based on the Abrasel-Stone Index, activity is concentrated in the Historic Center, in Miramar, along the Tambaú and Cabo Branco waterfront and in Mandacaru, with larger crowds on Fridays. The same index showed a 3.7% drop in sales at bars and restaurants in Paraíba in the second quarter of 2026, compared with 2025.

For examples of venues by area, Qual a Boa, from Jornal da Paraíba, published a list of happy hour bars in September 2023. In Manaíra, there is Arts Gastrobar, with chicken iscas and garlic bread, and Velho Chico. In Bessa, Parrilha 83 Bar e Petiscaria, facing the sea, and Boteco's 83, with live music. In Tambaú, Atol Music Bar, with live music, and in Jardim Oceania, Vintage 21, Praiano Bar and Bar Seu João. In Torre, Bar do Galo, and in Altiplano, Sky Bar, with a sea view.

In the Historic Center, the circuit revolves around Largo de São Frei Pedro Gonçalves and Praça Antenor Navarro, where, according to the same newspaper's guide from October 2023, Centrô and Vila do Porto are located.
