Signature burger joints in Jaguaribe, Manaíra and other neighborhoods share space with chains present in malls.

João Pessoa's burger scene is spread across neighborhoods, not concentrated in a single hub. On April 27, 2025, Polêmica Paraíba listed 083 Burguer, in Jaguaribe; Home Burguer PB and HDO, in Manaíra; Gio Burguer, in Bairro dos Estados; and La Hamburgueria JP, in Bancários. A month later, on May 28, National Burger Day, Paraíba Business gathered venues by region, among them Murilo's Burguer, in Mandacaru, and LOCA Burger, in Manaíra, plus the American chain Johnny Rockets in two of the city's malls.

083 Burger is the most frequently mentioned venue in terms of recognition. According to Paraíba Business, the specialized blog Hambúrguer Perfeito ranked it 10th best burger in Brazil and 1st in the Northeast, and Polêmica Paraíba repeats the figure. It is a blog list, without a methodology verified in this research, and should be read as a reference, not an official title. The article highlights the use of regional ingredients, such as cassava bread.

On October 15, 2025, ClickPB reported that a restaurant in João Pessoa appears as the 3rd best burger in Brazil in a ranking the article does not identify, and that other Paraíba venues, such as Brothers Burgers, Home Burger, Navarro's and Curral, the latter from Campina Grande, also appear on the list. Without knowing who compiled the ranking, the figure does not allow comparisons.

HDO is described by Paraíba Business as the first artisanal burger restaurant in Paraíba, a claim made by the venue itself, not confirmed by an independent source. Polêmica Paraíba calls it a pioneer, with artisanal production and a menu by chef Maurício Barbosa. Hours and prices should be checked with each venue.
