Craft breweries of Paraíba

A survey points to nine craft breweries in the state, and two received bronze at the 2025 Copa Cerveja Brasil.

Paraíba's beer scene is small, but active. A study published in 2025 in the journal RITUR, from the Federal University of Alagoas, interviewed representatives of nine craft beer ventures in Paraíba, surveyed between March and July 2023. The research proposes a Paraíba Beer Route, divided into itineraries for the Coast, the Agreste and the Sertão, and concludes that the representatives see the idea as viable. It is an academic proposal, not a route already in operation.

In terms of awards, Paraíba earned two bronze medals at the national stage of the 5th Copa Cerveja Brasil 2025, promoted by Abracerva. According to Movimento Econômico, Birrificio Club Cervejaria, from João Pessoa, was awarded for Pulo do Gato, in the American and International Pale Ales category, described as a pale ale with balanced bitterness and citrus notes. Cervejaria Vierbrauer, from Campina Grande, took bronze with Severina Lager, an all-malt beer, in the European Origin Lagers category.

João Pessoa and Campina Grande are the cities with the highest concentration of producers in the state, according to the studies consulted. We did not find, in journalistic or institutional sources from 2023 to 2026, a reliable list of tap rooms open to visitors, so this guide does not indicate addresses or visiting days.

There is a discrepancy between sources about the color of the Severina Lager medal: one blog post reports silver, but Movimento Econômico's coverage records bronze, which is the information adopted here. For those who want to try it, the recommendation is to look for the labels at bars and delicatessens in the capital and check for news on the breweries' own channels.
