The Port of Cabedelo is breaking cargo-handling records after an investment of more than R$ 300 million in new infrastructure.

About 18 km from downtown João Pessoa, the Port of Cabedelo is a central piece of Paraíba's logistics and has been going through a recent cycle of investments and operational records. Managed by Companhia Docas da Paraíba, the port opened a new structure in 2025 after investments exceeding R$ 300 million, directed at modernizing terminals and expanding cargo-handling capacity.

The results came quickly: in March 2025, the port recorded the highest monthly volume in its history, with 172,030 tons handled, driven mainly by imports of petroleum coke and fuels. In the same period, imports measured in FOB value totaled US$ 50.5 million in the first quarter of the year alone, a growth of 60% compared to the same period in 2024.

The Federal Government's Ministry of Ports and Airports highlighted the Port of Cabedelo as part of a set of strategic initiatives that consolidate Paraíba's port infrastructure, with effects that go beyond industrial logistics: more efficient cargo handling helps reduce the cost of inputs used in construction and trade in João Pessoa itself, sectors with significant weight in the capital's economy.

Besides commercial cargo, the Port of Cabedelo is also a reference point for recreational boating and for the catamarans that take tourists to the beaches and natural pools of the north coast, which reinforces its dual role as both a logistical and tourism asset for the metropolitan region.
