João Pessoa's airport, operated by Aena Brasil, grew 17.7% in 2025 and is getting a new boarding bridge.

Presidente Castro Pinto International Airport (JPA), in Bayeux, in Greater João Pessoa, has been managed by Aena Brasil since 2020, when the Spanish company won ANAC's 2019 auction for the block of six Northeast airports, with a concession contract valid until 2049. As of September 2026, three airlines operate regular flights at the terminal: GOL, LATAM and Azul, with connections predominantly to capitals and cities in the Southeast, Center-West and South of the country.

Traffic has been growing strongly: in 2025 the terminal recorded 1.89 million passengers, up 17.7% for the year, the highest growth among the six airports managed by Aena in the Northeast. The surge in demand brought forward an investment originally planned only for 2028 in the General Investment Plan: the installation of a third boarding bridge, with construction expected to begin in 2026 and operations starting in early 2027. Each bridge has the capacity to process around 600,000 passengers per year.

In the 2025/2026 summer high season, the flight network hit a record: Azul scheduled 230 extra flights (more than 32,000 seats), 120% above the previous season, including four new nonstop destinations never offered before — Cascavel (PR), Goiânia (GO), Ribeirão Preto (SP) and São José do Rio Preto (SP) — in addition to reinforced routes to Congonhas, Belo Horizonte, Uberlândia and Campinas, and international flights to Buenos Aires.

Since the flight network changes every season, visitors should always confirm destinations, frequencies and airlines directly on the Aena Brasil website or with the airline before buying a ticket.
