Tambaú, Cabo Branco and Manaíra concentrate the capital's hotel industry, which is receiving new investments from major chains.

João Pessoa's hotel network is concentrated in three beachfront neighborhoods: Tambaú, Cabo Branco and Manaíra. Tambaú is the busiest neighborhood, with a well-structured waterfront, kiosks, restaurants and craft fairs, and is also the main departure point for catamarans heading to the natural pools of Picãozinho and Seixas. Cabo Branco, right next to Tambaú, offers a somewhat quieter waterfront and is home to the Tourist District of the same name, where several recent hotel developments are concentrated. Manaíra, in turn, combines lodging with residential and commercial use and is close to two of the city's main shopping malls.

The sector has been receiving significant investment. In the Historic Center, the Portuguese group Vila Galé announced a property with an estimated investment of R$ 80 million and at least 80 apartments, expected to generate around 360 direct, outsourced and indirect jobs between construction and operation. In the Cabo Branco Tourist District, the Tauá Resort João Pessoa, expected to open in December 2025, represents an investment by the Tauá Hotéis e Resorts group of around R$ 500 million, of which R$ 230 million is financed by Banco do Nordeste (BNB), with the potential to reach R$ 750 million including future phases.

Among the chains already established in Paraíba, Nord Hotéis has the largest number of properties in the state, operating under three brands — Luxxor, Class and Easy — which signal distinct comfort and price categories for visitors to choose from according to their budget and type of trip.
