Tambaú brings together Northeastern, Italian and seafood restaurants, according to guides from Jornal da Paraíba and Paraíba Business.

Tambaú is one of the best-known neighborhoods on João Pessoa's waterfront, and the local press links it to a gastronomy that mixes regional cuisine, pasta and beachfront restaurants. Since the articles consulted are general guides, what follows describes what was published, without our own assessment.

The "Qual a Boa" guide, from Jornal da Paraíba, published in January 2024, included among the capital's ten restaurants three addresses linked to the neighborhood: Cozinha Roccia, on Avenida Antônio Lira, near Tambaú beach, with Brazilian cuisine using regional ingredients; Tábua de Carne, on Avenida Rui Carneiro, with Northeastern specialties; and Appetito Trattoria, an Italian restaurant, presented as a venue with 30 years of history in that edition.

On September 13, 2026, Paraíba Business listed three other Tambaú restaurants in its Sunday lunch itinerary: DanadoDBom, serving regional Northeastern food; Fava Praia Bar & Restaurante, described as a beach bar and restaurant; and Famiglia Muccini, with pasta and Italian cuisine dishes. The report on the Paraíba Restaurant Week also shows the variety of cuisines the capital brought together in the 2026 event, with 45 restaurants.
