Surrounded by a natural reef wall, Praia do Poço, in Cabedelo, is one of the calmest beaches on Paraíba's northern coast.

Praia do Poço is located in the municipality of Cabedelo, in the João Pessoa metropolitan region, accessed via the BR-230 highway. It is an oceanic beach but with clear, gentle waters, protected by a reef wall that surrounds much of the stretch and reduces wave strength before they reach the white sand. This natural formation creates shallower, calmer stretches, suitable for peaceful bathing, especially for families with children.

The beach's surroundings are occupied mostly by vacation homes and a few simple beachfront bars, giving the site a more low-key pace than João Pessoa's urban beaches. Due to its location in northern Cabedelo, Praia do Poço also serves as one of the boarding points for boat trips to nearby attractions, such as the Areia Vermelha sandbar, located a short distance from the coast.

The combination of protective reefs and generally calm sea makes Praia do Poço a safer option compared to open-sea stretches on the southern coast, although, as with any beach, conditions can vary depending on the tide and time of year, so it is advisable to observe local signage before bathing.
