About 20 km from João Pessoa, Carapibus brings together natural pools, colorful cliffs and a slower pace than the urban beaches.

Carapibus beach is located in the municipality of Conde, about 20 km from João Pessoa — around 20 minutes by car or 40 minutes by bus — and is known for its combination of tranquility and preserved scenery. The name, whose original spelling is Carapebus, has indigenous origins. The light sand strip is washed by a slightly rough, bluish-green sea, and the region is surrounded by cliffs that reinforce the contrasting look of native vegetation green and turquoise-blue water.

The site has natural pools at certain spots during low tide, good for those seeking a calmer swim, as well as sand stretches less crowded than the capital's urban beaches. Infrastructure is simpler than at spots like Tambaú or Cabo Branco, with mid-sized inns and small restaurants catering to a crowd seeking quiet, which makes Carapibus a sought-after destination especially outside peak season.

As part of Conde's southern coast, Carapibus is usually included in itineraries that also pass through Jacumã, Tabatinga, Coqueirinho and Tambaba, all concentrated within a radius of a few kilometers along the PB-008. The proximity between these beaches makes it easy to plan a full-day trip through the region, combining stops at different points along the coast.

As with other beaches on the southern coast, the sea at Carapibus can have stretches of stronger current outside the areas protected by reefs, which reinforces the importance of respecting the signage and seeking local information before moving away from the sand strip.
